When Fido Just Can't Make it Outside
Taking Care of Pet Accidents
First, get a shop vacuum. They extract water and moisture and are available at most hardware stores for under $40.
Use the vacuum to extract the all the urine as soon as the accident happens. After the urine is gone, treat it with a quality enzyme pet odor removal product. Call our office for recommendations.
That's it. That's the trick. Don't use paper towels to mash the urine into the padding. All you need to do is use a shop vac to extract and follow with a quality enzyme product.
BUT REMEMBER: YOU MUST DO IT RIGHT AWAY. Don't wait. If you do, the urine soaks into the padding and it could cause permanent staining.
****Use these procedures carefully and at your own risk.
If you cannot remove the stain or odor, call us immediately at 208-735-0386 or 208-788-2220 (Twin Falls, Sun Valley, ID). We will bring in a urine probe to determine exactly where the problems are and treat only the effected areas with the proper deodorizers. We have a tool that can even pull the urine from the pad.
The techniques mentioned here work well for any urine, vomit, or feces spot on carpet, rugs, or upholstery. Always pre-test any spotting agent before using the product.
