Why your carpet needs Carpet Protector

December 31st, 2011

1. Reduces permanent stains.

2. Helps save your traffic areas from becoming destroyed.

3. Make spots easier to remove. The easier a spot is to remove, the less cleaner you will have to use. The less agitation you will have to use, and the less time it will take. Many spots can be removed easily with just water.

4. Makes your next professional cleaning more effective. Having protector applied to your carpet will enhance your next cleaning. More soil will be removed the next time your carpeting is professionally cleaned.

5. Helps avoid costly service calls. Although you want to call us to handle any spot you cannot remove immediately, carpet protector helps you remove more spots than you could without protector. You may be able to save a minimum charge by removing the spot yourself.

6.Your carpet will look better and last longer when it is protected.

Filters for your Furnace

December 28th, 2011

Keep the air filters clean. A new home may require more frequent filter attention until dust from construction is removed.Important: Do not operate the furnace without filters. Dust entrained with the air can lodge in the blower wheel, in the cooling coil fins, in furnace controls, in air ducts, and at the supply registers. Any recirculated dust particles are heated and charred by contact with the heat exchanger. This residue soils ceilings, walls, drapes, carpets, and other household articles. So it’s very important to ALWAYS HAVE A CLEAN FILTER. Also get furnace and air ducts cleaned by a professional to prolong the life of furnace.

Carpet One- Importance of Vacuuming

December 24th, 2011

Do you have heavy traffic areas? If you do you’ll need to vacuum your heavy traffic areas, such as hallways, stairs and exterior entryways, at least twice a week. Vacuum less heavily used areas weekly. For best results, use a vacuum cleaner with a beater bar or rotating brush, and with a strong enough airflow to penetrate the carpet backing. Most dry soil has razor-like edges that abrade carpet fibers, causing light to reflect differently and give carpet a dull appearance( matting) . Soil can damage the fibers permanently if allowed to remain in the pile.

Facts about Carpet Soiling

December 21st, 2011

About 80% of soils that enter a building or house are dry. The remaining 20% are oils, greases and starches. The dry soils are easily removed by vacuuming and as long as they are removed on a daily basis it will help minimize the damage.
If not taken care carpet will be damage and might even be matting down on certain carpet fibers. It’s recommended to have carpet cleaned every 6-18 months depending on your particular situation meaning traffic.

Mohawk Industries — Cleaning Recommendations

December 14th, 2011

Even with regular vacuuming, soil particles and oily dirt will cling to the carpet fibers. With foot traffic these particles and oily dirt are driven deep into the carpet. We recommend professional hot water extraction every 12 to 18 months using cleaning products, equipment or systems that carry the Carpet & Rug Institute Seal of Approval. Periodic cleaning using the hot water extraction method performed by a certified carpet care professional, will refresh carpet appearance.

The most used areas, such as entrances, doorways, traffic lanes, and in front of chairs will collect dirt faster than other areas. Clean these areas as they begin to show soil. This will stop dirt from spreading and will extend the time between professional cleaning

Why you might need your Air Ducts Cleaned before the Winter

December 10th, 2011

Dirt, dust and other pollutants can be trapped in your air duct system. This  can be accumulated into a buildup  that will be blown into your home whenever you run your heater or air conditioner. A professional air duct cleaner can remove all of these harmful elements and give you peace of mind when running your heater this winter.
