Difference Between a Rug and Carpet

May 19th, 2012

The American floor covering industry argues that the difference between a “rug” (related to the words “rag” and rough”) and a “carpet” is strictly a matter of size. Any piece smaller than 40 square feet is considered a rug while anything larger is a carpet. Today, however, the term rug is most commonly used to distinguish an area rug from wall-to-wall carpeting or broadloom .

General cleaners not specifically formulated for natural stone or tile are never recommended. These can breakdown the sealer, thereby removing its protective properties and making the stone and tile grout susceptible to stains. Worse yet, many cleaning products, including those that contain lemon, vinegar, bleach or ammonia can etch away the polish, discolor the surface, or even scratch your stone.

Potential Hazard When Cleaning Yourself

April 25th, 2012

Most of us are not equipped with sanitary skills. If you choose to clean your carpet yourself make sure you choose good carpet cleaning supply. Because using products that are not of good or high quality can destroy your investment. Of course ruining it is the worst case scenario. Sometimes there is a  problem when the product you bought does not do a good job of cleaning your carpets. Or even worst leaves a residue behind which make your carpeting track up faster and look dingy.  It might not remove all the dirt or bacteria. Another thing is it may not be able to remove all the pet hairs that accumulated on the carpet.  So always try to hire a certified professional that is equipped with knowledge and technique to receive maximum results.
